The Eurovision song contest is due to take place in Tel Aviv, Israel in May. Last year, members of the Musicians Union of Ireland (MUI) called for a boycott of the event due to the appalling treatment by the Israeli government of the people of Palestine and the continuing occupation of their lands. The motion read:
“The MUI calls on our members to support the Palestinian call for a boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held by Israel in 2019.”
Details of further actions in support of this motion will be published on this website over the coming weeks and months.
